ASA celebrates 30 years
ASA celebrates its 30th anniversary this year! It all started in 1990, when ASA was founded as Advertising and Sponsoring Agency in Ghent. Not much later, the survey department was added. The abbreviation stayed, however since the addition of the survey department, it stands for Advertising and Survey Agency.
For almost an equal amount of time, ASA has been full member of the IIMS or International Institute of Marine Surveying. This international organisation promotes the professionalism, recognition and training of marine surveyors worldwide. Full membership, is for those holding an internationally recognised marine qualification. However, next to marine surveys, ASA provices liability and technical surveys in the aerospace industry as well as risk prevention.
